Although I am not a North Carolina Native, I have been here 30 years and consider Eastern North Carolina my home.  The area between Greenville, NC and the North Carolina Outer Banks is unique. Rich with history, Washington, NC was one of the first ports in North Carolina, and though there are few remanents of that time, the water front is still the focus of the town.  The Washington Waterfront is active with events, fairs and festivals and daily boardwalk strolls.

Bath, NC is known for the ledgendary pirate, Blackbeard.  Blackbeards home is preserved on the waterfront in the heart of town.  Now an upscale community Bath is also a wealth of history many of the buildings are preserved through the historic society.

Belhaven, NC is the gateway to th Intra Coastal Waterway. Boaters and Sailors often find their way to Belhaven while touring the great loop.
